Privacy Policy – Schwab SlicePilot

Overview

Schwab SlicePilot ("the Extension") is a browser extension for Google Chrome that automates stock-ticker selection on Charles Schwab's Stock Slices page. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data Collected and Stored

Locally stored data (on your device only)

The Extension stores the following data exclusively on your device using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API:

Data	Purpose
Your list of stock tickers (e.g. AAPL, MSFT)	Persisting your watchlist between browser sessions
Monthly reminder settings (enabled/disabled, day of month, last-triggered month)	Powering the optional monthly savings-plan reminder

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server controlled by this extension or its developer.

Data NOT collected

The Extension does not collect, read, store, or transmit:

• Personal identifiers (name, email address, IP address)
• Financial account numbers, balances, or transaction data
• Login credentials or authentication tokens
• Browsing history
• Any data from pages other than https://client.schwab.com/app/trade/stockslices/*

Network Requests

The Extension makes outbound network requests only in the following two cases:

1. Yahoo Finance autocomplete

When you type in the stock search field in the popup, the Extension sends your partial input to Yahoo Finance's public search API:

• https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/v1/finance/search
• https://query2.finance.yahoo.com/v1/finance/search

This request is made solely to provide autocomplete suggestions. No personal data is included. These requests are governed by Yahoo Finance's own privacy policy.

2. Charles Schwab page automation

The Extension injects a content script into https://client.schwab.com/app/trade/stockslices/* when you click "Run". This script interacts with the page's DOM (input fields and buttons) to pre-fill your stock selection. It does not read, transmit, or store any account information displayed on that page.

Permissions Used

Permission	Reason
storage	Save your ticker list and reminder settings locally on your device
activeTab	Detect whether the active tab is the Schwab Stock Slices page (for the toolbar badge)
scripting	Inject the automation script into the Schwab Stock Slices page when you click "Run"
tabs	Query and update tabs for badge display and opening the reminder window
alarms	Trigger the monthly savings-plan reminder on your configured day

Host permissions (https://client.schwab.com/*, https://query1.finance.yahoo.com/*, https://query2.finance.yahoo.com/*) are required exclusively for the automation and autocomplete features described above.

Third-Party Services

The Extension interacts with the following third-party services:

• Yahoo Finance – autocomplete suggestions only. See Yahoo's Privacy Policy.
• Charles Schwab – the Extension automates interaction with the Schwab Stock Slices page you navigate to yourself. The Extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at the same URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
